Going Pink!

One of the things on my bucket list, is to have pink hair at least once in my life. No, I don’t mean wearing a wig either!

After seeing how some of my friends pulling off pink hair I wanted to try… but as I have internship and graduation ceremony (don’t want to risk them not giving me my certificate T__T) I had to have my plans delayed.

Now that I’ve finally graduated, I called Jerry, my stylist (from Headlines Hairdressing – my hair sponsor) and told him I need to go down for another makeover!

This is my previous hair! I had pink streaks (which lasted since January, 4 months ago). Although the colour have somewhat faded, it’s still very impressive it lasted that long!

Everyone seem to be very shocked that it lasted that long … Jerry included! (Even though he was the one who dyed my hair the first place. HAHAHAH)

Later, I was showed the salon’s latest addition to hair colors (which will be used on my hair), and the brand was Elumen~

Personally I’ve not heard about it before, but when I posted this picture on instagram and facebook, one of my FB friends commented that my hair “was in good hands”.

Learnt later that it’s really good stuff! \(^o^)/

Started off by bleaching my current hair (goofy pictures, be warned):

Bald Mirai. Omg. Please don't use this to blackmail me in the future.

I sent this pictures to my friends and they were shocked. But it’s just temporary as my hair is being combed to the back while bleaching~

First round of bleaching – lighter hair now!

After second round of bleaching, I’m turning into a Super Saiyan:

KAMEHAMEHA~~~

AND the pink was still stubbornly there – but it has faded to a cotton candy pink~

Just the bleaching itself took 4+ hours, and all the staff were really, really patient with it. Even as the person who’s getting the hair dyed, I was getting impatient. (Hence the goofy pictures.)
.
.
.

Finally, my hair is ready to be dyed the colour I wanted!

I think it looks like Blueberry Jam!

Before the dyeing, my hair was coated with this to help facilitate (and prepare) for the dyeing process~

(I read the catalogue and found out that Elumen is longer-lasting and shinier compared to normal dyes! I think the colour is really pretty and I’ll let results speak for themselves:)

Final hair colour! Drying in process~

When I saw this, I was like… this is so #%@%% pretty. How can my hair be so pretty?! Then I almost cried. LOL.

Actually, I would describe this more like a Rose pink/violet shade than pure-pink hair. It’s not as boring as red hair, but not too extravagant like cotton candy pink. It’s bright to be different, yet not too loud that it’s inappropriate!

Apparently, pink is really popular these days and the dyes are running out! (I’m one of the major culprits. :X )

Styling in progress~~~

And guess what, when I told Jerry I dyed my hair to be in time for Prom/Graduation night, he offered to help me style my hair on the day itself before I head to Prom!!! :D We’ve tried the hairstyle out (it’s fabulous 8D) but I’m not showing the picture in case it takes away the surprise~

Once again… this is my “before” hair:

This is my hair now (and how it looks from various angles~):

I know many people will wonder… after bleaching and dyeing, isn’t your hair damaged/dryer?

Well, thankfully after all the treatments, my hair is very smooth now!

This are all the products used on my hair! As you can see all of them are from the Elumen series~ (It’s so lasting that if the dye stains the skin near your hair, you need to use the specialized wash to clean!)

However, even after all this treatment, Jerry told me that it’s very important that I maintain it at home (by doing masks etc.). I don’t think that’s a problem because I have been pretty hardworking when it comes to applying (spamming) hair masks and colour treatments (which probably explained why the previous pink lasted that long.)

Also, I think the extra effort to maintain it is worth it – because the colour lasts longer too!

Truth to be told, I think life is too short for regrets. The other day I just saw a middle-aged aunty with the exact same hair I used to have (brown with pink streaks). Not to say the hair wasn’t nice, but it’s not age-appropriate.

If I don’t do my hair now when I’m still young and able to, when will I do it? Until I’m 50? Afterall, hair will grow again, but I’ll never be young again.

And then, I realized that my hair matches my dress perfectly!!! :O

It wasn’t intentional as I was expecting a different shade of pink~ This was a surprise though! Anyway, thanks to all the stylist who helped make this hair possible.

It took 7 hours in total… can you believe it?! After bleaching, waiting, washing (X2) – then dyeing, waiting… styling. Amazingly patient and dedicated stylists, this people are.

Once again, if you would like to have pretty hair as well, you can call them or email them to ask for details. Do remember to look for Jerry, quote my name and ask for a 15% discount! ^-^

Graduation! \(^o^)/

After 3 years of studying... I've finally gotten my Diploma~ And before I get my Diploma, I need to go for the Graduation Ceremony!

The whole Faculty had 500+ graduants, and as my course was alphabetically the last, I had to wait for a long time for my turn. =_=

Hence, the camwhore:

~ Graduation pamphlet~

Waited for forever for my turn!~

Some selcas after getting my cert:

With Jim <3

Finally, here it is, the paper I took 3 years of my life to get:

It has been quite an eventful 3 years. Although it's not as long as Primary school (6 years) and Secondary school (4 years), I guess there's still some lingering feelings when it comes to departures~ The things I would miss most would be CCA (Japanese tsubasa club) and my internship place at Dialogue in the Dark.

I didn't take too much pictures with my friends though, because I'll definitely see those whom I'm close with again!

(Actually, I'm more worried about the unflattering graduation gown that makes me look like a penguin. HAHAH #__# I will take more during Graduation Prom! ^^ )

End of blogging challenge!

I hate to just give up like that, but after almost 20 days (19 days exact - nearly 3 weeks) of blogging consecutively daily...

I ran out of ideas! T___T

Also, I realised that the quality of my posts are getting increasingly narcissistic and I'm not sure if it's of standard! (is anyone even remotely interested about my life? =__=)

Hence, I'm not going to blog daily anymore. Rather, I will put in more effort and focus on writing more interesting posts, rather than rubbish posts daily.

Sorry! T__T

My wishlist~! \o/

Rather than a wishlist... it's more like a to-buy list. I don't have much money and I keep some to save, but sometimes there are just things I need to buy!

When I get my next pay cheque, I will buy the following items:

1) Polar FT60

I wanted a heart rate monitor for the longest time since I started running! I was debating between a few other models/brands, but after reading online reviews, I decided that this is probably the most suitable for me.

It's also like a "personal training computer" as it will assess your fitness level and "plan" a programme out for you to follow for the next week!

While to some people, this is excessive (because you don't need a watch to start exercising or training, which I've been doing for 1 year + already), I hope this can help improve my fitness and bring it up a notch. It's not very cheap at $269 (about $400 with other accessories I want to get) but I find the price justifiable!

Heck, some premium gym memberships already cost $100 a month! :(

2) Viking E10 sewing machine

This is something I've wanted even before the heart rate monitor. I don't know how to sew, but I've always wanted to try making my own costumes instead of purchasing them. Buying cloth to sew is time consuming and need not necessary be cheaper (when tailored costumes from taobao these days are way too cheaaaap), however, I have more respect for cosplayers who can make their own outfits/weapons.

I believe that as long as I try really hard, I will be able to sew a decent piece someday. Until then, I will rely on the tailor and/or taobao. This is $199, slightly cheaper than the polar watch~

3) Sony walkman NWZ-273

I had the older version of this MP3 but I lost it! :(

This is really handy when I practice my dance routines at home and I don't want to disturb my family members when I blast the music. It's also quite useful when I used it for running before I lost it.

While I really want one to replace my old one I lost, this is probably the least of my priority as I could still use my handphone to play music when I run. However, if I had extra cash, I would love to buy this!

--------------------------------

Are there any items in your wishlist that you would really love to have? That no matter what, you would definitely purchase them if you have the cash?

Working everyday!

After NEET-ing for about a month or so after my internship... I've found a part-time job as a promoter for a Japanese range~ :3

(Someone has given me an idea for future blogposts - to update my OOTD, but I'm working almost everyday and I'm wearing the same uniform! So that probably can't work out unless you want to see my work uniform. >_<)

Although it's tiring standing around for hours (because I'm not so used to it), the staff at my workplace are really friendly! They share their food with me when I tell them I'm hungry and even generously give me samples when I tell them I have certain skincare concerns. My superior is also very nice, so I feel super guilty whenever there's not much customers/sales because it feels like I'm taking my pay for nothing. T____T"""" (Although - to be honest, it really depends on extraneous factors and it's beyond control).

It's awesome because I have extra income for a while, but it's ending soon (it's a temp job for only a few weeks).

Anyway... I had dinner at MOF today!

One good thing about working is that I feel slightly less guilty whenever I want to spend money. (Y)

Sashimi-salad! *w*

Cha-soba!

Popcorn chicken (with wasabi mayonnaise). So sinful! >.<

Actually... the dinner was to celebrate a friend's birthday! I haven't met that group (poly club friends) for a very long time. The last time I saw them was a month or two ago? Which is not *that* long, but considering before that I see them almost everyday! :(

Close-up for the cake-lories.

I think I really need a run... but given my lack of time due to work, maybe I shall just play more dance-evolution at home.

Cosplay plans! :3

To be honest, I'm not a serious cosplayer - I have neither the skills to construct/sew my own costumes - neither do I have the money to buy/tailor so many costumes. Hence, I don't cosplay much and if I do, I select my characters wisely!

Currently, here are my plans for this year:

1. Kagura (2 yrs later ver. - Gintama)

I was supposed to cosplay this last year, however, my costume did not arrive in time! Now I'm just left with the goggles and umbrella - then I'm set to go!

oh... maybe to tone up my abs too... =____=

I'll most likely cosplay this in late June or July.

2. Aries (Fairytail)

My favourite celestial spirit from fairytail... Aries is just so fluffy and huggable. I have a soft spot for fur... probably one of the reasons why I chose this. I might need to construct this particular costume myself, since it's probably quite simple (I don't have time to order it online and wait for it).

Probably late June or July as well.

3. Asuna (ALO - SAO)

Asuna is probably a very mainstream character to cosplay. However, I love this particular costume so much! She has a certain kind of beauty in this particular version... I just don't know how to describe this feeling. =w=

Probably in Late June/early July as well.

4. Virgo (Fairytail)

2nd favourite character in Fairytail~ (I just like celestial spirits more than Mages?! O.O) I have a soft spot for maids as well! >__<

I personally like her character a lot. Might be doing it for photoshoot only~

5. Acchan 13th gen. (AKB0048)

I'm not sure when I'll be cosplaying Acchan (<3) but probably not anytime soon... I still prefer her over Nagisa as Acchan! >___<

I just like Acchan (the actual one - I've cosplayed Beginner's PV ver. before) - I don't dislike Nagisa, but I don't feel anything for her as Acchan either. Maybe I'm just too old to cosplay her.
--------------------------------------

Every year, I give myself cosplans, but in the end I only managed to do one or two out of the list. I'm slightly more conservative this year... let's see what I manage to do by the end of this year! :)

Recent Addiction: Dance Evolution Arcade! *o*

Recently there's a new arcade game in Singapore! It's not new in Japan, but it arrived on our shores about a month (or two) back. It's an "actual" dancing game where you have to follow a choreography (not a pseudo dance game like DDR where you just jump about on arrows).

(Image from Wikipedia - because no photography is allowed in local arcades =w=)

To be honest - I haven't tried it at the arcade yet! So far I've only seen my friends trying it~

If you ask me... $2 is very pricy for a round of game which consists of 2 songs, of which both are shortened! However, what I've been addicted to doing is following the dances on youtube.

Call me a cheapskate or whatever... but I think dancing should be free for anyone to enjoy. Maybe playing it with your friends (and showing off your skills) at the arcade is fun - but I don't have tens of dollars to spend and I doubt spending $2 to dance for just 5 minutes is enjoyable for me.

Here are some of my favourite routines on youtube - have fun dancing!

FLOWERS (song I liked since DDR times!)

Heavy Rotation (AKB song! Not my favourite akb song though, but the only AKB song in the whole list T_T)

Luka Luka Night Fever (Choreographed by Kozue <3 Honestly I haven't learnt the full song yet... but I'm planning to in the future!)

Follow Tomorrow (Never heard of this song before, but my friend said it was good - started watching it and I like it's choreography!~)

(The machine at arcade says that you burn about 17.1 calories for each song, I'm not too sure about that because it seems a little too optimistic. ^^"")

If it's 17.1 calories... I would have burnt about 140 calories from this today!
