After seeing how some of my friends pulling off pink hair I wanted to try… but as I have internship and graduation ceremony (don’t want to risk them not giving me my certificate T__T) I had to have my plans delayed.
Now that I’ve finally graduated, I called Jerry, my stylist (from Headlines Hairdressing – my hair sponsor) and told him I need to go down for another makeover!
This is my previous hair! I had pink streaks (which lasted since January, 4 months ago). Although the colour have somewhat faded, it’s still very impressive it lasted that long!
Everyone seem to be very shocked that it lasted that long … Jerry included! (Even though he was the one who dyed my hair the first place. HAHAHAH)
Later, I was showed the salon’s latest addition to hair colors (which will be used on my hair), and the brand was Elumen~
Personally I’ve not heard about it before, but when I posted this picture on instagram and facebook, one of my FB friends commented that my hair “was in good hands”.
Learnt later that it’s really good stuff! \(^o^)/
Started off by bleaching my current hair (goofy pictures, be warned):
Bald Mirai. Omg.
I sent this pictures to my friends and they were shocked. But it’s just temporary as my hair is being combed to the back while bleaching~
First round of bleaching – lighter hair now!
After second round of bleaching, I’m turning into a Super Saiyan:
KAMEHAMEHA~~~
AND the pink was still stubbornly there – but it has faded to a cotton candy pink~
Just the bleaching itself took 4+ hours, and all the staff were really, really patient with it. Even as the person who’s getting the hair dyed, I was getting impatient. (Hence the goofy pictures.)

I think it looks like Blueberry Jam!
Before the dyeing, my hair was coated with this to help facilitate (and prepare) for the dyeing process~
(I read the catalogue and found out that Elumen is longer-lasting and shinier compared to normal dyes! I think the colour is really pretty and I’ll let results speak for themselves:)
Final hair colour! Drying in process~
When I saw this, I was like… this is so #%@%% pretty. How can my hair be so pretty?! Then I almost cried. LOL.
Actually, I would describe this more like a Rose pink/violet shade than pure-pink hair. It’s not as boring as red hair, but not too extravagant like cotton candy pink. It’s bright to be different, yet not too loud that it’s inappropriate!
Apparently, pink is really popular these days and the dyes are running out! (I’m one of the major culprits. :X )
Styling in progress~~~
And guess what, when I told Jerry I dyed my hair to be in time for Prom/Graduation night, he offered to help me style my hair on the day itself before I head to Prom!!! :D We’ve tried the hairstyle out (it’s fabulous 8D) but I’m not showing the picture in case it takes away the surprise~
Once again… this is my “before” hair:
This is my hair now (and how it looks from various angles~):
I know many people will wonder… after bleaching and dyeing, isn’t your hair damaged/dryer?
Well, thankfully after all the treatments, my hair is very smooth now!
This are all the products used on my hair! As you can see all of them are from the Elumen series~ (It’s so lasting that if the dye stains the skin near your hair, you need to use the specialized wash to clean!)
However, even after all this treatment, Jerry told me that it’s very important that I maintain it at home (by doing masks etc.). I don’t think that’s a problem because I have been pretty hardworking when it comes to applying (spamming) hair masks and colour treatments (which probably explained why the previous pink lasted that long.)
Also, I think the extra effort to maintain it is worth it – because the colour lasts longer too!
Truth to be told, I think life is too short for regrets. The other day I just saw a middle-aged aunty with the exact same hair I used to have (brown with pink streaks). Not to say the hair wasn’t nice, but it’s not age-appropriate.
If I don’t do my hair now when I’m still young and able to, when will I do it? Until I’m 50? Afterall, hair will grow again, but I’ll never be young again.
And then, I realized that my hair matches my dress perfectly!!! :O
It wasn’t intentional as I was expecting a different shade of pink~ This was a surprise though! Anyway, thanks to all the stylist who helped make this hair possible.
It took 7 hours in total… can you believe it?! After bleaching, waiting, washing (X2) – then dyeing, waiting… styling. Amazingly patient and dedicated stylists, this people are.
Once again, if you would like to have pretty hair as well, you can call them or email them to ask for details. Do remember to look for Jerry, quote my name and ask for a 15% discount! ^-^
